COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION THROUGH MICROFINANCE
Rachel: A Beneficiary of CTM Project

Rachel is a beneficiary of Community Transformation through Microfinance (CTM).
Rachel and other women beneficiaries were trained on how to start a small scale business, manage the business, finances and mapping opportunities. She learnt how to relate with her customers to ensure that they come back to her shop at another time. She was given seed money about $80.00 USD with which she was able to expand her small shop. This improved her daily sales from less than $2.50 USD to ten folds of $25.00; then she was able to pay off her initial loan.

Upon her full payment of the loan, she was qualified to receive a reinvestment loan of about $250.00. She worked very hard and diversified her business eventually increased to her daily sales to over $60.00 and started saving. Then with support from her husband and with her savings, she was able to purchase a grocery store that currently brings $300.00 daily sales. Not only her own life has been transformed but also she is able to contribute to transforming her neighborhood community by employing others at her shop.
